Marketplace Associates of Turtle Island Marketplace are expected to communicate with each other in a respectful and professional manner at all times. We have young Starseeds sharing and viewing TIM, so please be mindful when communicating with fellow MAs. This includes avoiding offensive or discriminatory language and refraining from personal attacks or insults. If the offenses and complaints have reached the Community Council, the contingency has already gone too far.
Fair Business Practices: As a Marketplace Associate, you are expected to conduct your business on Turtle Island Marketplace in a fair and ethical manner. This includes accurately representing the items you are selling, providing high-quality customer service, and fulfilling orders in a timely and efficient manner. Failing to practice these Fair Business Practices may result in terminating the relationship between you and the Turtle Island Marketplace.
Non-Discrimination: Aboriginal Americans refer to themselves as many different titles such as “Black”, African American, Negro, etc. Although we screen each Applicant to make sure Aboriginal Copper-Colored Americans are registered as Merchants or Vendors, Marketplace Associates of Turtle Island Marketplace are expected to refrain from discriminatory behavior or language based on tribe, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, or any other protected characteristic.
Prohibition of Hate Speech: Turtle Island Marketplace has a zero-tolerance policy for hate speech. Marketplace Associates are expected to refrain from making statements that promote or incite violence, hatred, or discrimination.
Intellectual Property Rights: Marketplace Associates are expected to respect the intellectual property rights of others. This includes obtaining permission to use any copyrighted material and properly attributing any works that are not their own.
Reporting Violations: Marketplace Associates are encouraged to report any violations of the code of conduct to the Community Council or Admin. Reports can be submitted via the our contact form or by email at admin@turtleislandmarketplace.com.
Penalties for Violations: Violations of the code of conduct may result in penalties, including warnings, suspension or termination of membership, or legal action in extreme cases.
Here are some examples of behavior that may violate the code of conduct for Turtle Island Marketplace:
- Discrimination or harassment: Any discriminatory or harassing behavior towards other members based on tribe, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, or any other protected category.
- Intellectual property infringement: Any infringement of another Associate’s intellectual property rights, such as using their product images, descriptions, or trademarks without permission.
- False or misleading advertising: Any advertising or product descriptions that are false, misleading, or deceptive, such as misrepresenting the materials or quality of a product.
- Spam or phishing: Any attempts to send unsolicited messages or emails to other Associates, or to solicit personal information or financial details through deceptive means.
- Unprofessional conduct: Any behavior that is unprofessional or damaging to the reputation of Turtle Island Marketplace, such as making false claims, engaging in verbal or written abuse, or failing to fulfill orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- These are just some examples of behavior that may violate the code of conduct for Turtle Island Marketplace. By us setting clear expectations for behavior and enforcing them consistently, we can create a safe and supportive environment for all Marketplace Associates to sell their products and celebrate our cultural heritage.
